Reporting to the Police

If you choose to report the attack to the police, we are here to help.

An advocate can

  • explain how to report the attack to the police
  • go with you to the police station and wait while you report the attack
  • explain your rights throughout the police investigation
  • go with you to identify the attacker if they are in a police lineup.

Due to confidentiality , an advocate will not be with you during the report, but instead will sit and wait for you to finish the report.

If you would like to report your attack to the police, you may call 911 and do so, or contact your local police department, we are here to help you through it all, don’t hesitate to call us.
