Established in 1977, SACIS, the Sexual Assault Counseling and Information Service, is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to the healing and empowerment of sexual assault survivors through non-judgmental crisis intervention counseling, individual and group counseling, and medical and legal advocacy throughout Coles, Cumberland and Southern Clark Counties in Illinois. Since our grassroots beginnings, we have expanded to include satellite organization, CAISA (Counseling and Information for Sexual Assault/Abuse), which hosts office locations in Robinson, IL and Olney, IL and provides services to Jasper, Edwards, Wabash, Lawrence, Crawford, and Richland counties. Our organization provides public education and institutional advocacy in order to improve the treatment of sexual assault survivors and to effect positive change in policies and public attitudes toward sexual assault.
